This should be real interesting. Currently I see the future as follows:
Obama is elected president. Tries to start troop withdrawal from Iraq, then realizes that it is and always has been a silly pipe dream. Changes his tune regarding Iraq, comes up with some lame excuse, public buys it but is skeptical.
Starts to work on nationalized health care along with a Democratic majority in the Senate and Congress. The beginnings of the next catastrophic failure on a major scale by our federal government. Numbers are passed around that would make the military blush, before deciding on the absolute largest one possible. With a theoretical plan in place that takes into account barely any actual logistical problems, we're off to the races. The largest bridge to nowhere has begun construction. Sexy.
Gas price controls are talked about and implemented. History schmistory, it didn't work then because we weren't the ones running it! Prices controls lead to serious shortages nationwide. Seventies here we come. Bell bottoms and afros come back in style.
Somewhere around mid year two people begin to realize that just voting for "change" might not be the best way to vote, especially when the change is a naive, dishonest, mentally challenged jack off. This leads into election 2012, at which point a gay hispanic atheist woman could win as a republican (if they would run one). But seriously, if you are a republican, and age 35 or older, consider throwing your name into the hat for 2012. I'll only be 34, so I'm out of the running, but pretty much anyone else nominated is taking it down. Even one of the polygamists recently arrested for marrying 12 year olds could take it.
So in closing, Obama will win the election coming up. It's all but assured it will be so. In the long run however, it will be the greatest thing to ever happen to the republican party. So bring on the Obama! I'm ready to sacrifice for my country.
