Our politicians in America and around the world are always hitting these "hot button" issues. Things like gay marriage, gas prices, taxes, global warming. I have yet to hear a politician mention anything about population control. I doubt I ever will, at least from one that makes it anywhere anyway.
But seriously, when it comes to personal responsibility, is there a greater one? For those that don't think it's something that could ever or would ever need to be governmentally controlled, take a gander at China. But forget that, it's not something that should need to be governmentally controlled.
Though theoretical, imagine a country where everyone had children when they could afford them (to their best judgement). I suppose better wording would be "people did not have children when they most certainly could not afford them." I can almost assure you that overall poverty levels, crime, and tax burdens in general would be lower. Actually, I might take back the tax part. Could be lowered sure, but government loves money so who knows.
I mean come on, we have Planned Parenthood out there, birth control is all but free. Go grab some condoms, some Depo-Provera, a vasectomy... something that will stop another baby from showing up. Mistakes happen, and that's fine. But if you've had three mistakes or more, you my friend are an asshole.
